I know what you are thinking but let me assure this is a fun read. Not only is it entertaining but it is very educational at least if you are interested in lesbian history. Some of the stories are over the top and campy but that is what makes this book so much fun. The characters are quite interesting to and I find my self wondering if these stories are auto biographical and/or if these two clever authors are themselves lesbians.
In short this book is well worth the ride especially if you are into sapphic horse stories and the like. Although what emerges in the end is a relentless political diatribe and if you tire of constant finger pointing between socialists and conservatives, then this book is not for you. However, if you like a little lesbian sex mixed in with your politics then you will find this book as fulfilling and delightful as I did.
